The Instituto Multimedia DerHumALC (IMD) invites local and international filmmakers, producers and distributors to submit their films to participate in the International Environmental Film Festival - FINCA.
This competitive Festival will take place in the city of Buenos Aires from June 1 to 12, 2022 in a hybrid format, featuring on-site and virtual films on the imd-stream platform, available only for the Argentine territory.
The competition is open to films that deal with socio-environmental issues, made after January 1, 2020. The deadline for registration is February 15, 2022.
The goal of the International Environmental Film Festival is to feature the best films that cover all socio-environmental issues from multiple and original points of view, thus promoting a critical cinema that contributes to social transformation.
Focus 2022: Biodiversity
The main focus of this sixth edition of the International Environmental Film Festival is biodiversity, with the purpose of deepening and shedding light on the most urgent problems. The goal is for art to open up new spaces for empowerment that can in turn be replicated as tools for individual and collective transformation. Together with national and international participants, universities, social organizations, communicators, artists, musicians and filmmakers, we will seek to give the greatest possible impact to the claims of civil society through awareness-raising artistic activities and constructive debates.
The Official competition will be divided into: Official Competition of International Feature Films; Official Competition of International Short and Medium Length Films; Official Competition of Latin American Documentaries.
