Sign language represents a parallel universe which remains unexplored country for the vast majority of people. The protagonists of Seeing Voices don’t lament their inability to hear music or birds singing. They employ different techniques to master their lives and refuse to be silent. They may not be able to hear, but that does not leave them without words.
