Gianfranco Pannone (Naples, 1963)

Gianfranco Pannone is an Italian television and film director, graduated from History and Film Criticism from Sapienza University of Rome, and Film Direction from Sperimentale di Cinematografia.
Among his works as director and producer are Piccola America, Lettere dall’America and L’America a Roma, which comprise the Trilogía de América (1990-1998). In the Turin Film Festival he received award to Best Film for Latina/Littoria (2001), and the Rai Award in the Mediterranean Film Festival (2003).
Also, Pannone is one of the founding member of the Doc/It Association and participates in the 1000autori Association. He teaches documentary filmmaking at Dams in Roma Tre University and documentary direction at Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and in L'Aquila.
He has edited Docdoc, the digital magazine ildocumentario.it, and has written essays and books on cinema, which notoriously include Il Sol dell’Avvenire, co-written with Giovanni Fasanella, and L’Officina del Documentario, co-written with Mario Balsamo. Gianfranco Pannone lives and works in Rome.

Matías Estevez (Argentina)

Director of MEGAMINERIA: Mentiras a Cielo Abierto

Sound and image designer, graduated from the Architecture, Design and Urbanism Department of the University of Buenos Aires (FADU-UBA). He directed documentaries, institutional films and advertizing on TV. He produced the documentary series Neuquén, Río Impetuoso between 2011 and 2013. He has made several documentaries, which include Sauzal Bonito (2010) and Trashumantes (2009). He has taught at the Sound and image design course (FADU – UBA), Social Communication course (UCES) and is currently working on audiovisual workshop development.

 
 

Ulises de la Orden (Argentina)

Director of Desierto Verde

Born in Buenos Aires in 1970. He studied film direction at Universidad del Cine (FUC). Since 2006, he teaches Film Direction at ENERC, a cinematography school funded by INCAA. Among the feature documentary films he produced are Río Arriba (2004) and Tierra Adentro (2011). He is now filming his fourth film, “Mujer Entera” and working as Executive Producer at UNTREF MEDIA.

 
 

Hernán Vilchez (Argentina)

Director of Huicholes, los Últimos Guardianes del Peyote

Argentine-Spanish audiovisual artist, he studied at the International Film and TV School in San Antonio de los Baños – EICTV (Cuba) and at Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica (Argentina). In the last decade, he has directer television ads, music videos and documentaries in Latin America and Europe. He specializes in the filming of indigenous peoples and ancestral ceremonies around the world, and has worked with Australian aborigines in Arnhem Land, Batwa pygmies in Uganda, Taquileños in Titika Lake, Waoranis and Shipibos in the Amazon, Wixaritari in Mexico, Mentawai in Siberut Island, Diolas in Senegal and in the massive celebrations of Kumbh Mela in India and the Yemanjá Festival in Bahia, Brazil. He currently makes his own documentaries independently and produces international content.

 
 

Mausi Martínez (Argentina)

Director of SED: Invasión Gota a Gota

Argentine actress and film and television director born in Formosa. She studied drama at the Municipal School of Dramatic Arts of Buenos Aires, and cinema at the National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts of Argentina, and at the institute of Argentine producer and screenwriter Rodolfo Hermida. In the 90's she gained notoriety as a television actress and played a fundamental part in the alternative theater group De La Guarda. She has worked as director and scriptwriter for the films En la Trinchera (2010), Nunca Estuviste tan Adorable (2009) y Puig... 95% de Humedad (2001). As an actress, she has participated in several feature-length films, which include No Fumar es un Vicio como Cualquier Otro (2005), La Vuelta de Peter (2004) and El Tigre Escondido (2003).

 
 

Marcelo Viñas (Argentina)

Director of El Tesoro del Bosque - Productos Forestales No Madereros de las Selvas

He is a documentary filmmaker and holds a degree in Biological Sciences. He was born in General Pico, La Pampa. Since 1992 he works as producer and director of TV and educational documentaries on nature, conservation, sustainable use and socioenvironmental issues. He is responsible for more than 80 works for several official institutions, for NGOs and his own productions. Since 2010 he gives courses on environmental and nature filmmaking at several institutions. His documentaries have been screened on Argentine television on a number of channels, both on broadcast and cable television, and in foreign networks. Since 2005 he is the director of Timbó Films, a documentary production company on nature and conservation.
