THE ORGANIZER

The International Human Rights Film Festival (FICDH) is an initiative by the Instituto Multimedia DerHumALC (Human Rights in Latin America and the Caribbean – IMD), which is a non-profit association located in Buenos Aires. It is intended as a center for strengthening the investigation, teaching and promotion of human rights, through the active use of audio-visual resources and new technologies.

The IMD Institute is also known for carrying out the International Environmental Film Festival (FINCA) in Buenos Aires, a meeting place which already reached its third edition, screening films whose highlight are environmental and social issues.

The Instituto Multimedia DerHumALC’s main focus is on the audio-visual exhibition, training and promotion of human rights topics. The International Human Rights Film Festival reaffirms this commitment and broadens its possibilities for the advocacy of human and environmental rights towards non traditional fields, such as that of cinema.
