Jairo Fuentes is the young leader of the community of Tamaquito, a village in the forests of northern Colombia. But the Wayúu community’s natural resources are being destroyed by El Cerrejón coal mine. This vast chasm extends for 700 square kilometres, making it the world’s largest open-cast coal mine. As the Cerrejón continues to progressively destroy the once virgin land, Jairo embarks on a confrontation that will soon turn into a struggle for survival in his determination to save his community from the forced displacement.
