27 de ABRIL, 2015

IMD
The IDFAcademy Summer School is open to:
- Directors making their first or second feature documentary (no film school students).
- Ten projects in the script development phase and six projects in the rough-cut phase.
- Creative documentary projects.

The IDFAcademy Summer School 2015 — which will take place from June 29th to July 4th in Amsterdam — is a tailor-made training program designed to help emerging filmmakers strengthen the narrative of their feature documentaries. A total of 16 projects from all over the world will be selected for participation. Entries for this edition closed on April 1st, 2015.

IDFAcademy Summer School offers the opportunity to meet and work with prestigious filmmakers and members of the filmmaking industry, who will share their knowledge and experience with the promising participants. The Summer School combines individual coaching with group sessions and an inspiring cultural program in a relaxed atmosphere. There are two types of training possibilities: Script Development and Editing Consultancy.

The selected filmmakers will be allowed to bring a creative producer, a co-scriptwriter or, if they will be working on Editing Consultancy, an editor. If a project is selected, a participation fee must be paid: €1,000 (excluding VAT) for two people, or €750 (excluding VAT) for one person. This fee does not include travel costs, accommodation or food. Foreign participants will be able to apply for an accommodation grant.

Eight international documentary experts will mentor the participants. Experienced professionals such as Gianfranco Rosi (Director, Italy), Audrius Stonys (Director, Lithuania), Emma Davie (Director, Scotland), Kate Townsend (Executive Producer of BBC Storyville, UK), Sabine Bubeck-Paaz (Commissioning Editor at ZDF, Germany), Debra Zimmerman (Executive Director at Women Make Movies, US) and Ollie Huddleston (Editor, UK) were mentors in previous editions of the Summer School.
